the pop-up silversmith
Welcome to The Pop-Up Silversmith, a unique concept that combines a market stall with a traditional silversmith workshop to create a portable (or pop-up) silversmith and jewellers.
TPS is owned and run by Clare and Dave Thompson.
Clare is a silversmith and jewellery designer and Dave a retired project manager, both are experienced market traders who successfully sold Clare’s handcrafted jewellery at multiple artisan markets across the north west.
Both Clare and Dave have a very strong commitment to making and trading ethically and work hard to keep their prices reasonable and the quality of both their services and products high.
Their “no quibble” refund or replacement guarantee in the event of an issue or fault has earned them the trust and repeat custom of many of their customers.
They have a “no hard sell” policy where everyone is welcome to browse, ask questions or request advice without the expectation of having to buy something. They are also very happy to say hello to any passing doggos, and kiddos are very welcome to touch anything that isn’t hot, sharp or heavy.
The Pop-up Silversmith is housed in a weatherproof professional 4.5m by 3m gazebo and can be set up pretty much anywhere including markets, festivals and events regardless of the weather or time of year.
Within the gazebo is the workshop complete with silversmith. Visitors can watch the silversmith at work and are encouraged to ask questions and can even take part.
Demonstrations take place throughout the day.
Also inside is a permanent jewellery station which boasts a top of the range micro-welding machine as well as a wide selection of UK sourced sterling silver and 9ct gold chain ready to be made into either a bracelet or a necklace.
We offer an interactive customisation service with 2 options to choose from:
~ You can choose a pendant, ring or charm from out selection of sterling silver blanks
and give us a word, date or symbol you would like stamped onto it. We will take it away with us, stamp, finish and arrange for you to collect or for it to be
couriered
~ Or you can have a go at stamping it yourself, guided by our inhouse silversmith. We
will then finish it beautifully and arrange to collection or delivery.
Either option will result in a very special gift for a loved one or a treat for yourself.
